Overview

The Punakha Tshechu draws crowds to the dzong’s courtyard for days of masked dances re-enacting stories from Buddhist history — and because dates shift with the lunar calendar, timing it takes local knowledge. This tour package is built around the festival, with the standard highlights of the western circuit filled in around it.
